Wednesday in Plymouth

Policing in Plymouth is a team business, not only the team that work directly for the police, but also the wider partnership that keep the City safe. Being "unitary" makes life a lot easier. Most of the agencies and groups are focussed in the same boundaries. This means we can quickly make plans together and make things happen. In the last two days I have had the pleasure of working or discussing with, the fire brigade, the council, the CCTV control centre, local government and many others, all who are committed to bringing down crime and the fear of crime in the city.

I have worked in many different policing situations across the country and abroad, but I haven't before been in an environment where such a large proportion of those you work with are "up for it". There is more to do, but "the team" is ready.

Today, we have been dealing with prisoners for aggravated burglary and huge quantities of drugs, amonst the many other investigations that run every day.
