Keeping Plymouth safe is the key business of the police, but it is by no means ours alone, we work in partnership with many agencies across the city, the fire service, health, probation, the City Council, probation and the private and voluntary sectors. Our partnership is under the heading of "Safe & Strong" in which "Safe" covers bringing down crime and "Strong" covers building a vibrant voluntary and community sector. We are also charged with oversight of waste, street services and neighbourhood management.

"Safe & Strong" is one of the key theme groups that makes up the Plymouth 2020 partnership. The other theme groups are focused on the issues of "Wealthy" ie economic development, "Healthy", ie the health of all of us in the City and "Wise", ie lifelong learning.
Today the "Safe & Strong" theme group met. We were reviewing our performance and checking progress of some of our joint projects. We have a wide range running including "Young Runaways Project", "Family Intervention Project", "Prolific & Priority Offenders Unit" and many more. All of them are designed to bring together key agencies across Plymouth to work for the benefit of all.
There is a stack of information on our partnership website here.
